In-form Arellano Lady Chiefs aim for fourth win in a row in V-League

    Apr 8, 2014
The Arellano Lady Chiefs are unbeaten after three starts in Group A.

ARELLANO University guns for a spot in quarterfinals of the Shakey's V-League season 11 First Conference when it faces St. Louis University at The Arena in San Juan on Tuesday.

The Lady Chiefs aim to stretch their unbeaten run in Group A to four games in the 2 p.m. face-off against the Lady Navigators, who are at the bottom of the pack with a 0-2 (win-loss) card.

Starter Danna Henson and Jovielyn Prado are expected to take the lead for AU while veteran Menchie Tubiera, who had a sub par four-point output in their previous game, is tipped to bounce back.

Meanwhile, National University will try to get at least a playoff shot at the quarterfinals in its showdown with San Sebastian at 4 p.m.

Tha Lady Bulldogs, who lead Group B with a 2-0 card, will once again rely on veterans Mina Aganon and Dindin Santiago when they take on a similarly in-form Lady Stags.

The SSC belles pulled off a 25-18, 17-25, 27-25, 23-25, 15-13 victory over three-time NCAA champion University of Perpetual Help without ace spiker Gretchel Soltones.

Soltones remains in doubt due to a sprain she suffered in their game against Far Eastern University more than two weeks ago, but Czarina Berbano, Jolina Labiano, and guest players Ryzabelle Devanadera and Bea Uy are ready to step up for the 1-1 Lady Stags.
