PHILIPPINE Air Force drubbed Philippine Navy in straight sets to boost its quarterfinal bid in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.
Joy Cases led the Air Women with 18 points in the 25-18, 25-8, 25-16 win that took them just 70 minutes to complete.
It was the third straight win for Air Force after losing its first two games of the tournament as the Air Women moved a victory away from formalizing their entry in the carryover, quarterfinal phase.
Judy Ann Caballejo had nine attacks for 10 points for Air Force.
The Air Women totally outplayed the Lady Sailors, registering a total of six blocks against none for their opponent, while also having more excellent digs (33-29) and sets (29-14).
Cecille Cruzada had seven points for Navy, which dropped to 1-5 but remains in the thick of the fight for the sixth and last quarterfinal berth.
