IT might just be the preseason but Nxled has hit a new high with its best-ever start to a PVL tournament at 3-0.
The Chameleons slayed two league giants in Petro Gazz and Choco Mucho to open the 2025 PVL on Tour before eking out a close 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 sweep over winless Galeries Tower.
While Nxled head coach Ettore Guidetti lauded the team’s significant gains, winning three games won’t instantly make them playoff contenders or title protagonists straight away.
In fact, Guidetti even pointed out how Nxled’s hot start has been a matter of pouncing on their undermanned opposition.

“To be honest, the reality is that the level is absolutely not higher than the last season. The All-Filipino Conference was another level,” the Italian mentor admitted.
“We kept working with the same system so it was simple for the new players to enter in. We take very good players to raise the level.
“Basically, we doubled up in a way because the other teams are a little less, and we are two times more. That's the real reason.”
To keep the team grounded, Guidetti bared giving a pep talk to his players over a week ago in the midst of what has been an unlikely dream start to preseason play.
“I had a speech, I think, about 10 days ago. I said, okay, right now, people are not considering us the worst team anymore or something like this or the dark horse. I don't know how to define it,” said the Nxled head coach.
“We have to start thinking about it and accepting a little bit more extra pressure. What we try to do during the practice is to try to raise the pressure and to have a natural managing of the game.
“At the same time, we have try to become a little bit deaf about what is outside because the truth is that every single conference is different and every single match is totally different.”
