GEORGE Pascua will no longer call the shots for the PLDT High Speed Hitters just after one full season.
George Pascua, PLDT part ways
The High Speed Hitters parted ways with the 50-year old tactician ahead of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference in February.
“We would like to thank Coach George Pascua for all that he has done for the team. He built a program that helped the players strengthen their teamwork and gameplay, as they faced their battles on the court during the three conferences that Coach George was on board,” the team wrote in a social media post on Monday.
“We wish him well as he moves on to new endeavors. Mabuhay ka at padayon, Coach!”
A multi-titled coach in the Philippine Superliga, Pascua made his debut in the PVL in 2022 as the head coach of the revamped High Speed Hitters.
Under his helm, PLDT secured its first-ever semifinals berth in the Invitational Conference but fell short of a podium finish in a five-setter battle for bronze against the Cignal HD Spikers.
The team finished fifth in the Open Conference and missed the playoffs in the season-ending Reinforced Conference after placing 6th.
Pascua, instead, will return to the UAAP as the head coach of the Adamson men's volleyball team, after a five-year stint with the FEU Lady Tamaraws that ended in July 2022.
