GALERIES Tower finally found its breakthrough in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab series after surviving a late Akari rally.
The Highrisers snapped a six-game losing streak dating back to August 1 by holding off the Chargers’ reverse-sweep attempt for a 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 15-25, 15-10 victory on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Erika Deloria spearheaded the breakthrough with a monster triple-double of 20 points, 28 receptions and 11 digs. Jean Asis chipped in 14 markers, while Alyssa Bertolano added 12 points and 14 digs.

“Motivation pa rin na nakuha namin ‘yung first sets na walang aayaw, na ilaban lang namin hanggang dulo,” Galeries coach Aying Esteban said.
“Nag-react naman sila dun sa bandang dulo, pero kung mas maaga sana namin nakuha, mas maganda sana ‘yung resulta. Pero same pa rin, a win is a win.”
They have risen
After opening the Siklab series with four straight defeats, Galeries Tower showed enough fight to get back on winning track, claiming its first victory since beating Farm Fresh in the PVL on Tour last July 11.
The Highrisers had to weather a series of momentum swings, even in the fourth set, when their 5-0 run was immediately answered by an identical Akari burst that forced a deciding frame.
But Galeries Tower saved its best for last.
With the match hanging in the balance, the Highrisers unleashed a decisive 7-1 finishing run in the fifth set, capped by Bertolano's off-the-block hit to put the Chargers away.
The loss halted Akari’s two-game winning streak, despite Eli Soyud erupting for 24 points. Ivy Lacsina added 13 points and 12 receptions, while Fifi Sharma had 12 markers as the Chargers slipped to 2-3.
