FIFI Sharma dismissed rumors of a potential Akari exit to join another PVL team.

SPIN.ph first caught wind of a supposed blockbuster transfer on social media which pointed Sharma to 10-time PVL champion Creamline.

When asked about her name surfacing on the offseason rumor mill, the Alas Pilipinas middle blocker had an ingenious response aimed at volleyball fans' gullible tendencies on social media.

"Wala ‘yun. Don’t listen to what people say on Facebook, guys. That’s my number one advice. Whatever you see on Facebook, always fact-check," Sharma said.

"As long as there’s no official statement, don’t make fake news appear to be real, especially to impressionable minds such as volleyball fans.

"Let’s just wait. Wala ‘yun. ‘Wag muna mag-ano ng final but wala ‘yun, never mind it."

Bigger priorities in mind

Amid a busy offseason so far, Sharma has two top priorities in mind.

First is to recover from an ankle sprain she sustained midway through the playoffs, which led to her absence in the entirety of the single-round robin semifinals.

"Physically, I’m doing okay. I still have rehab to do because ‘yung ankle sprain ko talaga is a Grade 3 ankle sprain. It takes a really long time to recover," Sharma said.

"So far, I’ve been doing rehab and I’m looking forward to the next conference. We’ll see. We’ll take it day by day."

What Sharma continues to bank on is the promise of an even stronger front for the Chargers after copping back-to-back podium finishes in the last two PVL conferences.

"Very optimistic because considering na we've only been in the league for less than three years, very new pa, we've already battled in the finals."

Sharma added: "Only good things for Akari considering that everybody in the team, including the management most especially, and also our coaching staff, they're all working into improving our system and making us better players."

Her other priority, given the chance to make it happen, is a second Alas Pilipinas stint.

For now, plans to don the national colors are at an impasse pending a 'compromise' between club and country.

"As of now, we’re still trying to reach a compromise. Ako, if you were to ask me, of course, I wanna play and I’d give everything to play but we’ll see. We’re still waiting on people’s decisions," she said.
