FAR Eastern University alumnus Vice Ganda hopes to see her alma mater end a title drought in volleyball.
The TV and movie personality shared the wish on Saturday night during her 'Ganda For All' Music Festival at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Sana mag-champion ulit ang volleyball, ‘yung women’s volleyball lalo na," said Vice, who was among 1,850 fans who flocked to The Arena to watch Game One of the PVL Finals between FEU and University of the Philippines on Sunday.
"It’s due time maka-experience din sila ng championship,” the popular comedian and TV host added.
The last time the Lady Tamaraws won a title was during the 11th season of the Shakey’s V-League First Conference back in 2014 with Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga leading the way.
In the UAAP, the Moratya-based squad won its last championship in 2008, also with Daquis on board. The Lady Tamaraws last reached the finals in Season 80, losing to La Salle.
But Vice Ganda feels this current batch of the Lady Tamaraws has what it takes to emulate the success of its predecessors.
“Kasi ang gagaling ng mga bata parang sana mabigyan din sila ng exposure, sumikat din sila,” she said.
