FARM Fresh broke into the win column in Pool A of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference with a five-set fightback against Galeries Tower, 25-22, 35-37, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10, on Tuesday at the Philsports Arena.
Fresh off a 10-day break for Pool A teams prompted by last week’s typhoon, the Foxies got going behind Yeny Murillo's 29 points on 26 attacks, two blocks and one ace to win for the first time in three games.
The Foxies’ second-set loss, one that ran for 45 minutes, became the joint-second longest set in PVL history which saw 11 deadlocks from 25-all, seven Highrisers set points and five set points of their own.
Galeries Tower remains the only winless team in their pool at 0-3.
Murillo a force on offense
“First win. Very, very happy,” said Farm Fresh's Japanese head coach Shota Sato.
“This game, I already saw good things and bad things from the team so we’ll adjust accordingly in training to get the win in our next game.”
Murillo was a force on offense with his highest scoring output to date this conference, topped by eight clutch attacks in the fifth-set tiebreak. She also had a defensive double-double with 16 receptions and 10 digs.

Also leaving a strong impression for the Foxies were Caitlin Viray and Trisha Tubu with 18 points apiece and Ckyle Tagsip with 15.
Farm Fresh had all fronts covered as team captain Louie Romero converted 27 excellent sets to go with libero Janel Delerio’s staggering 25 digs and 12 receptions.
Thai import Sutadta Chuewulim’s 19-piece wasn’t enough to keep the Highrisers afloat. She was backed up by back-to-back 17-point displays from France Ronquillo and Graze Bombita off the bench.
