IT wasn't the pro league debut she hoped for, but Faith Nisperos took a handful of positives in her first match as an Akari Charger.
With a meager five-point output, the former Ateneo skipper gave her two cents on her first outing in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference which ended in a 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 defeat at the hands of PLDT.

"Of course as a first-timer, all we want naman is to win. So number one, [the loss] is not what I wanted na result but I'm glad na I get to already test the waters and play with the Akari Chargers," she said.

There are no days off for one of the finest open spikers in the college volleyball scene as she enters a new chapter in her budding career.
As such, Nisperos acknowledged the need to continue expanding her arsenal of skills in a league that demands versatility and adaptability.
"I've been working on some of my skills and I could say naman na dahan-dahan na nailabas ko naman [sa first game]," Nisperos shared.
"As an open hitter na inaasahan in all aspects of the court, I could say na I have to improve on my defensive skills and blocking as well," she added.
With a week-long break incoming ahead of the Pasay City leg of the Volleyball Nations League, the newest Akari star underscored the need to use the mid-conference interlude wisely.
"We could take the opportunity na mahaba yung break namin to train and to study. Time can be your kakampi and that's what we're trying to do," Nisperos said.
Akari will vie for their first win on July 11 against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at the PhilSports Arena.
