EYA Laure says she continues to feel pain in her shoulders but she is willing to play as University of Sto. Tomas eyes a place in the final of the PVL Collegate Conference.
“Masakit. Hindi naman siya mawawala. Kailangan kong alalayan pag pumapalo,” said Laure, who dislocated her right shoulder over three weeks ago.
Laure showed the way as the Tigresses defeated the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in the opener of their semifinal series, scoring 19 points off 15 spikes and four blocks.
The 18-year-old opposite hitter did not mention doctors’ orders or team instructions, but said she felt she can play through the pain.
A girls volleyball star, Laure says she is also determined to play in crucial matches such as these to boost her confidence before her debut in the UAAP women’s volleyball.
The Tigresses and Lady Tamaraws play the second match of the best-of-three series on Saturday at 2 p.m.
