EJ Laure said she is excited to start afresh as a veteran leader at Nxled after what she described was an 'amicable' parting of ways with Chery Tiggo.
Unlike sister Eya whose move out of Chery Tiggo remains hanging, the 27-year-old EJ said she was granted permission to leave because her contract with the Crossovers has expired.

“End of contract naman na rin ako,” said Laure, adding she was also able to make the proper goodbyes to his team of two years.
Laure said: “Nakasama ko pa sila [Chery Tiggo] nung nag-out of town kami sa Butuan. Okay naman [pagpapaalam ko sa kanila].”
The former UST star said a desire to step out of her comfort zone and thrive in a different environment prompted her transfer.
“Gusto kong lumabas sa comfort zone ko, and siyempre new experience rin kasi since ang tagal ko sa Chery [two years], parang bagong experience naman.”
Knee issues forced Laure to miss a significant chunk of the 2024 PVL season, but she's now ready to cross over to the Chameleons and move on.
Her Nxled debut, supposedly against Chery Tiggo on Tuesday, was delayed since she just had a day of training with her new team under her belt.
But it's close.
“Nagbo-bola naman na ako. Kasi dati nu’ng nasa Chery pa lang, parang nagre-recover pa rin talaga ako. Ngayon naman, nakaka-bola na ako,” the newest Chameleon said.
Despite a 0-2 start to Nxled's season, Laure is excited about the Chameleons' future and wants to put in a touch of veteran leadership to push the team forward.
Leading by example
“Nakikita ko naman sa training yesterday na parang willing naman silang gawin lahat. Alam ko naman na gustong-gusto talaga nila manalo,” Laure said.
“Leadership talaga [gusto kong ibigay sa team]. Actually kasi, hindi naman talaga ako vocal. Gusto ko talaga' yung parang in action ko muna gawin para hindi sila nape-pressure.
