MOTOLITE’s Bosnian import Edina Selimovic will miss at least three more matches due to a bruised knee cap.
Selimovic suffered the injury in Saturday’s loss to Pacifictown-Army in the PVL Reinforced Conference. She sat out in the match against Petro Gazz on Sunday and told reporters that she won’t be able to play the remaining three matches in the first round of eliminations in the six-team tournament.
“I will be out for at least a week,” said the Bosnian hitter, who will undergo laser therapy.
With two straight losses and the next three matches set in a week coach Air Padda is hopeful the Selimovic can make a quick recovery, but is not forcing her return.
“I know she hurt her knee. I think her knee cap. The muscle in the back of her knee pushed her knee cap forward,” Padda said. “She landed incorrectly last night in the fourth set. So, she will be out for at least a week. But I think she will miss the whole first round.”
“It's going to be a tough match-up because we only have one import playing. All I can do is hope that she could come back and play,” she said.
Myla Pablo, conference MVP last year while playing for Balipure, has yet to see action for Motolite due to a back injury.
Padda will bank on American import Channon Thompson and locals Isa Molde, Tots Carlos, setter Fhen Emnas, Eli Soyud and Thang Emnas as they gun for their first win in the league when they face BanKo on Wednesday.
