BANKO Perlas stretched its unbeaten start to five, beating Tacloban, 25-21, 23-25, 29-27, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Dzi Gervacio had 23 points, 16 digs and nine excellent receptions, while Nicole Tiamzon had 20 markers for the Spikers, who took the solo No. 1 spot.
Down 17-22 in the third set, BanKo Perlas fought back to gain momentum heading into the fourth set.
“Come from behind ‘yung panalo namin sa third set kaya medyo bumaba ang confidence ng Tacloban kaya sinamantalata namin,” said BanKo Perlas coach Dong dela Cruz.
“Malakas naman ang Tacloban, lahat naman ng teams dyan capable of winning kahit sinong team iharap sa kanila,” he said.
Heather Guino-o scored 21 points, while skipper Jovielyn Prado added 10 markers as Tacloban slid to 2-2.
