DIMDIM Pacres stole the show by the hitting the game-winning spike in Team Red’s 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 victory over the Alyssa Valdez-led Team Blue in the Premier Volleyball League All-Star game on Saturday.
The hard-hitting spikers also turned the court into her dance floor as she grooved to the sensational "Switch It Up" challenge to cap the showcase.
Aside from her hard hits and seven points that helped Team Red prevail in three sets, Pacres and Team Blue’s Dani Ravena figured in a dance showdown at the end of the All-Star Game with the UST spiker owning the show with her moves that made the ecstatic fans roar at the Arena in San Juan City.
“Ganun talaga pag may narinig akong music, pag familiar sa akin sumasayaw ako,” the Tacloban opposite hitter said. “Sobrang saya kasi first time ko lahat like may meet and greet tapos magautograph tapos maglaro sa malalakas na tao. Isang malaking opportunity talaga ‘to tsaka learnings din and guidance in the future.”
Pacres nailed the game-winning spike as Team Red head coach Oliver Almadro gave the play for her, set by Jem Ferrer.
“Sobrang vocal niya na coach tapos sobrang grabe siya magmotivate ng player,” she said. “Siyempre naexcite tsaka nachallenge din kasi pinabigay na sa akin yung bola dapat ako yung last point so wala akong ginawa kundi paluin ko talaga.”
But aside from entertaining the fans in the meet and greet and fun games, Pacres is happy that the proceeds of the All-Star match will go to Hero Foundation.
“Sobrang sarap kasi ako talaga, kahit dati pa gusto ko makatulong, magbigay sa street children ganun,” Pacres said. “So sobrang nakakatuwa kasi kami napasaya namin yung fans tapos nakatulong kami sa mga nangangailangan.”
