LIGHTNING has unfortunately struck twice for La Salle greats Ara Galang and Aby Maraño, who once again find themselves in a familiar but unfortunately unwelcome situation.
Just two years after the shock disbandment of F2 Logistics, their next destination Chery Tiggo has now suffered the same fate.

Back on Dec. 13, 2023, the six-time Philippine Superliga (PSL) champions exited the club scene to refocus on grassroots development, leaving a wave of former Lady Spikers suddenly available and quickly snapped up across the PVL.
But luck initially favored Galang and Maraño as they were among the first Cargo Movers to secure a new home, signing with the Crossovers on Jan. 2, 2024, a shift from the iconic F2 yellow to Chery Tiggo red.
Maraño had long been on Chery Tiggo’s radar, even before F2’s exit loomed.
“Si Chery Tiggo ‘yung isa sa teams na nag-message right after ma-disband ’yung F2. Ever since, consistent sila magpakita ng interest sa akin,” she said in a previous appearance on Power and Play.
“Malaking factor na kahit 2023, nandoon pa rin ’yung interest nila for me to be part of the team.”
The duo delivered, helping Chery Tiggo reach the playoffs in five of six conferences, save for their final run in the 2025 Reinforced Conference, where they finished 10th.
Galang even captured Best Opposite Hitter in the 2025 PVL on Tour, helping steer the Crossovers to their first finals appearance since their 2021 championship season.
But fast forward to Dec. 2, 2025, and Chery Tiggo has shockingly ridden into the sunset, leaving Galang and Maraño in limbo once more.
This time, they’re joined by fellow Taft product Baby Jyne Soreño, the eighth overall pick in last June’s draft, as well as fellow rookies in Enderun's Erika Deloria (20th), University of Santo Tomas' Ren Peñafiel (26th) and San Beda's Reyann Cañete (29th).
They weathered this unfamiliar storm once back in 2023. And given their talent, experience, and championship pedigree, it feels less like a question of if they find a new home and more of when.
And hopefully, the next one will finally be home for good.
