DAWN Macandili-Catindig once went through a crushing separation in the past when F2 Logistics abruptly disbanded two years ago.
That heartbreaking experience only gave her the mental fortitude to overcome the exits of Cignal veterans Ces Molina and Riri Meneses.

“Over the years, natutunan ko na rin kasi to accept a certain situation that you’re in. Kung anuman mangyari sa’yo, kapag nangyari na, paano ka magmo-move on from that kasi wala ka namang magagawa,” Catindig shared with SPIN.ph.
“You should know what you can and can’t control at kung ano ‘yung kaya mo pang gawin which is to focus on what’s gonna happen with the team at kung sinong nandyan. ‘Yun na lang din ‘yung reflection ko du’n sa nangyari.”
Although strong enough to move on fast from Molina and Meneses’ departures, the new Cignal captain bared how the team was left shell-shocked with how it all went down over the last few weeks.
“Na-shock kaming lahat. We decided to focus on the team, on ourselves and more du’n sa sarili namin kung paano namin ifi-fill-in ‘yung mga roles na nawala at kung paano kami magkakaroon ng bagong connection,” said Catindig.
“Key players ‘yung nawala eh, ibig sabihin there’s two slots inside the court na mabubutas.”
Players may come and go, but Catindig knows how quality will always outweigh quantity as Cignal navigates through the remainder of the conference with a 12-woman squad — the fewest in the league.
“It’s not about the quantity of the players. ‘Yun ‘yung nagustuhan ko talaga sa sistema ng Cignal,” Catindig shared.
“In a way, yes na mas naging close kami. Tiwala rin kasi sa coaches kung paano kami aalagaan in terms of sa quality ng training at ng binibigay ng players.”
