THE Davao selection disposed of San Sebastian, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23, on Tuesday dashing the Lady Stags’ chances of making it to the quarterfinals of the Shakey's V-League Season 11 First Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Team captain Venus Flores and May Agton each had 15 points for the Lady Agilas, which matched the 4-1 win-loss card of National University.
But the Lady Agilas still wound up in third place with an inferior quotient behind the Lady Bulldogs.
UST grabbed the top spot by also finishing with a 4-1 card after a three-set victory over Perpetual Help in the final elimination-round match.
Jocemer Tapic added 10 points for the Davao squad, which played its fifth match in nine days.
"Gusto ko mapanalo ang laro na ito kasi advantage sa ranking," said Davao coach Shane Alagao.
Gretchel Soltones finished with 10 points for San Sebastian, which ended the tournament with a 1-4 win-loss card.
A San Sebastian win would have enabled the Lady Stags to match Far Eastern University's 2-3 mark and force a playoff for the last quarterfinal berth.
