THE DAVAO selection looks to stretch its unbeaten run and take top spot in its group, while University of Santo Tomas eyes a share of second spot as the Lady Agilas clash with the streaking Tigresses on Sunday in the V-League First Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Agilas, made up of players from various schools in Davao, are playing their fourth match in seven days as they arrived late for the tournament and are trying to squeeze in all elimination round matches in two weeks.

But the team from Davao has so far proven up to task, scoring three wins in three matches, the latest a four-set victory over the title holders National University Lady Bulldogs (4-1).

The Tigresses get their turn to try and stop the surprising Lady Agilas, as the UST (2-1) squad is also on a roll, winning two straight games after dropping the opener to the Lady Bulldogs.

But while the Lady Agilas are trying to overcome fatigue, the lady Tigresses hope to shake off the rust in the 2 p.m. match. The UST side has not seen action since turning back San Sebastian two weeks ago.

Victory by the May Agton-led Lady Agilas will put them on top of the standings, but a win by the Tigresses led by Pam Lastimosa and EJ Laure will help NU keep the top spot, while giving the Tigresses a share of second with the Davao selection.

Meanwhile, Adamson tries to force a three-way tie at the top of the other group as it takes on College of St. Benilde in the 4 p.m. match.

Ateneo and Arellano have completed their elimination round schedule and both hold 4-1 records, while Adamson also move to the top with a win over St. Benilde, which holds an even 2-2 card.

Shiela Pineda and Pau Soriano are expected to come up with fine numbers anew for the Lady Falcons, along with Thai reinforcement Pacharee Sangmuang.
