CREAMLINE overpowered Petro Gazz in straight sets, 25-19, 28-26, 25-20, in an anticlimactic Finals rematch Saturday in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez unleashed 15 points built on 13 kills and two service aces to keep the Cool Smashers unbeaten through five games.
"It was really hard to penetrate yung blocking nila. But the floor defense and counter attacks, we're able to get points from that," she said as Creamline got back on Petro Gazz in their first meeting since the Reinforced Conference championship series.
"It was more of a technical game kasi grabe yung pagaaral ng PetroGazz. Alam nila lahat ng plays namin."
Michele Gumabao added 13 points, while Jema Galanza had 10, including the game-clinching block on Jonah Sabete to cap off the third set, 25-20.
It wasn't the best of games from Creamline as it had to fight back from a tight second set.
The Angels' errors kept the Cool Smashers in the game, which was the gap Valdez needed to score a tip and a thunderous spike to steal the tight 28-26 second set.
Jeanette Panaga led PetroGazz with 10 points in the losing cause that dropped the Angels to a 1-2 slate.
