CREAMLINE fended off a game challenge from the Akari Chargers 25-19, 24-26, 26-24, 25-19, to stay unblemished in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference, Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Creamline vs Akari 2023 PVL Invitational Conference recap
Jema Galanza led Creamline in production with 16 points as they finished pool play with a 4-0 slate.
“Etong last game pa nga, medyo bumagal yung pace ng team, pero at least na-challenge kami sa game na to bago kami pumasok sa semis and sana lahat ng pagkakamali namin this game tsaka the past games maayos namin,” said Galanza.

Having not yet lost a set this entire conference entering the game, the Cool Smashers were put in uncharted territory when Akari nicked the second canto in their favor.
Despite this, the defending invitational conference champions showed their mettle as they battled from three set points down to claim the third frame, and then closed out the contest in the fourth set, 25-19.
Tots Carlos and Alyssa Valdez also churned out 14 and 12 markers, respectively, to help tow Creamline over the finish line against Akari.
Former collegiate standouts Faith Nisperos and Dindin Santiago-Manabat proved to be lethal weapons for Akari as they chalked up 18 points each, but were unfortunate to fall to a 0-3 [win-loss] record.
