CREAMLINE defeated Pocari Sweat-Air Force, 25-16, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17, to force a decider in the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
After a straight-sets loss in Game One, the Cool Smashers bounced back to drag the Lady Warriors to a do-or-die match in the best-of-three semis on Friday.
A far cry from their Game One outing, four players from Creamline scored in double figures - Michele Gumabao had a conference-best 18 points, while skipper Alyssa Valdez, who was the lone bright spot in their previous match, had 15 markers, 23 digs and 23 excellent receptions.
Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin had 14 markers and Laura Schaudt, who had only one point in Game One, made 10 points this time.
“I think it was shown in today's game that everyone really wanted this win. We really wanted this win to go to the do or die game on Friday,” said Valdez.
American import Madeline Palmer finished with 17 points and skipper Myla Pablo had 15 in the match that took almost two hours to finish.
