ANTIPOLO — Not even a 12-kilometer trip from Barangay Mayamot in Lower Antipolo to the Ynares Center could stop 65-year-old superfan ‘Nanay Beth’ from watching Creamline play live for the very first time.
Once she found out about the Cool Smashers’ playoff match in Antipolo, she was quick to tag along three of her family members to come along with her.
In the end, even from the uppermost seats of the Rizal venue, her favorite PVL team reached the semifinals for the 17th straight conference after ousting Chery Tiggo in a two-game series sweep.

But how long has Nanay Beth been a Creamline fan? Eight years.
And even as a longstanding member of the pink army since 2017, this was only Nanay Beth’s first time watching a PVL game live and in the flesh.
“Matagal na kamins fans. Ano na, eight years mula nung nagsimula pa yung PVL, mula nung pumasok sina Alyssa," she said.
What lured her into one of the league’s fan-favorite clubs is how Valdez & Co. embody humility, success and their signature ‘good viibes’ at the highest level — making them a treat to watch.
“Cool lang sila, di sila mayayabang, good sport kaya sobrang saya (na mapanood sila live),” the 65-year-old Creamline superfan continued
“Chill-chill lang ba.”
While some of her relatives are able to watch PVL games live at the Philsports Arena, Nanay Beth couldn’t help but relish her first of what would be many more times to see her idols live.
She was treated to a win tonight, but her one wish for the PVL is to bring the matches more often to Antipolon to expand an already-communal volleyball experience that has began taking the country by storm.
“Ako kasi, taga-rito, once pa lang ako nakakanood dito ng live. Mas okay dito eh. Mas kita yung players kasi maliit lang ‘to. Sana madalasan pa,” she said.
Like the rest of Creamline’s devout fanbase, Nanay Beth carries the hope and the wish to see her beloved team lift the PVL trophy again.
“Sana manalo kayo lagi, sana mag-champion kayo ulit. Galingan niyo lang. Tiwala kami sa inyo.”
