CREAMLINE is one win away from matching the league’s second-longest unbeaten run — which it also holds — by stopping its longtime streak-buster Chery Tiggo, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.
It also marked the Cool Smashers’ eighth straight victory in as many matches to hold fort as the last undefeated team this conference .
The three longest win streaks in PVL history are now held by Creamline, including a 19-game unbeaten run from 2023 to 2024 and an unprecedented 25-game win streak from 2019 to 2021.

Meanwhile, Chery Tiggo will carry back-to-back losses ahead of its prelims finale against Choco Mucho in Passi City, Iloilo.
Bea de Leon went full throttle for the defending champions with 13 points on eight attacks, three aces and two blocks.
Only Ara Galang was left to do the heavy-lifting on offense for a skidding Crossovers side with 14 points on 12 attacks and two blocks.
History in sight
Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses kept tabs on the lore between them and Chery Tiggo — one that saw them snap the defending champions' two longest win streaks in 2021 and 2024.
They might be depleted now, but the Crossovers still weren't a team to overlook for the Cool Smashers by any means.
"Nag-research ka rin ah, tama ka dyan. Talagang nag-prepare kami for Chery Tiggo. Ayun nga na may mga history nga na ganyan (kami against them) so talagang nag-prepare kami nang mabuti," Meneses said.
"Hindi rin naman rookie (team) 'yung Chery Tiggo, veteran team din sila. Dapat paghandaan nang mabuti.
"Last time, medyo nag-relax sa third set, nakuha ng kalaban 'yung third set. Ngayon, naging lesson sa'min 'yung last game namin. Sobrang thankful sa mga players din na nag-responsd sa third set."
