    Creamline books third straight PVL finals appearance with rout of Army

    ANTIPOLO CITY —Creamline dominated Pacifictown-Army, 25-12, 25-18, 25-13, to earn its third straight finals appearance in the PVL on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Center.

    The defending champions Cool Smashers face the top-seeded Petro Gazz Angels in the Reinforced Conference finals starting on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.

    Pacifictown-Army faces BanKo in the battle for third.

    Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin led Creamline with 12 points, all coming from attacks, while making 10 digs and eight excellent receptions.

    Alyssa Valdez had 11 points as Lady Troopers finished the match in an hour and 16 minutes.

    “This year has been a different kind of challenge yung nabigay sa amin from the very start since January until now iba iba pinagdaanan namin,” Valdez said.

    “It’s going to be exciting in the finals kasi first time namin makakalaban ang PetroGazz with one of the best imports na dumating satin si Wilma (Salas).”

    Risa Sato had nine points, Michele Gumabao scored eight and Venezuela’s Ale Blanco added seven markers.

    Jia Morado dished out 16 excellent sets on top of four points, while libero Mel Gohing had nine digs and nine excellent receptions.

    Olena Lymareva-Flink had 11 points and 13 excellent receptions for the Lady Troopers, who committed 24 errors.
