ANTIPOLO — It was deafening silence from Creamline's end following its first loss of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference to PLDT in five sets.
The Cool Smashers didn't spend too much time in the dugout after the near-three hour contest and headed home almost instantly.

Whether it was because Sherwin Meneses was to coach National U's UAAP Season 87 opener against La Salle on Sunday or simply opting to stay silent remains unknown.
Unfortunately for the defending champions, they were unable to exorcise their PVL out-of-town curse in which they almost always seem to run out of gas when playing away from the metro.
Before Saturday's Antipolo match, two of Creamline's record win streaks were snapped in Ilocos Norte and Laguna.
It now became three.
And not even a near triple-double from Creamline's newest MVP Bernadeth Pons was able to save them from a stunning loss.
Now that the underlying pressure of a historic unbeaten run is off the table, all focus is now on its title defense alone and nothing more.
At 9-1, Creamline sits second in the league table even with a similar record to Petro Gazz by virtue of match points.
It didn't always take perfect campaigns for Creamline to win a league-best 10 titles and the Grand Slam. They had to deal with rare yet crushing losses, too.
While their post-game silence is telling of the somber mood for now, do expect a champion team like Creamline to pick up the pieces and bounce back with its eyes set on nothing but a golden finish.
