ILAGAN — Creamline cruised to a 25-9, 25-11, 25-15 sweep of hapless Galeries Tower in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Saturday at a 6,491-strong Capital Arena in Isabela.
That 25-9 first-set rout for the pink shirts was also a record-seventh time Creamline held an opponent to single digits in a set over its eight-year run.
But more importantly, the defending champions have now won back-to-back games after losing their out-of-town conference opener in five sets similar to how their 2024 title run unraveled.
A much superior Cool Smashers side had the luxury of resting their core and parading their second stringers to decimate the reeling and still-winless Highrisers.
Even so, they kept on building double-digit leads all-match long that were just too much to even try and chase for Galeries Tower.
Among those who saw more minutes than usual for the defending champions are third setter Mafe Galanza, Lorie Bernardo, Rose Vargas, Rhea Dimaculangan-Villarete and this year’s 12th overall draft pick in Sheena Toring.
Steadying that Creamline ship with almost all its starters rested was American import Courtney Schwan who had 14 points in her first taste of back-to-back wins after torching rival Petro Gazz on Tuesday.
