Champion middle blocker up for grabs

Now up for grabs for the rest of the PVL field is the league's most decorated player with 11 league championships to her name, 12 including the 2017 Collegiate Conference with National University.

But as per a league source, her next ride in the PVL will likely be with another title contender that is having quite a busy offseason as of late.

In both of her PVL stints with Balipure and Creamline, 15 conferences in total, Sato has never missed the podium, as she still racked up four runner-up finishes and a bronze medal in her non-championship campaigns.

Hence, a serial winner awaits whichever team she'll soon cross over to.

Apart from being at the core of the Cool Smashers' historic 2024 Grand Slam-winning team, Sato also has a rare individual three-peat of her own.

She is the only player in PVL history to win either the 1st or 2nd best middle blocker nod in all three conferences of a single season back in 2017.

Sato was the top middle blocker in the league's inaugural Reinforced Conference and was second-best in the Open Conference for Balipure and in the Collegiate Conference with NU — the latter two being title-winning runs, too.

Her new colors will soon be known when the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the league's longest yet, begins on Nov. 9.
