THERE was quite a nostalgic feel from Creamline entering its 20th PVL conference in eight years.

Its new uniforms for the 2025 Reinforced Conference were noticeably reminiscent of the overall vibe of the team’s first-ever jerseys in the league’s inaugural 2017 campaign, which also happens to be an import-laden tournament.
The Cool Smashers traded their usual vibrant shades of pink and blue to a much lighter and pastel-like look with an added gradient effect, becoming a familiar sight for their most loyal fans.
Team captain Alyssa Valdez, who once sported the original Creamline jerseys as part of the pioneer squad, didn’t pick up the semblances at first, but was very much delighted upon seeing it through.
“Wow, I didn't realize that it was very similar to our first-ever jersey. Thank you for reminding us that,” Valdez told SPIN.ph.
“It's something that I think with having this new jersey, it's so light, it's so bright. I guess we wanted to bring that also in the games.”

More than being a cosmetic retouch, Valdez herself has translated the timelessness of their jerseys to her actual performances on the court.
At 32, there’s still no stopping the ‘Phenom’ from churning out sterling numbers, as she posted the first triple-double of import-laden play this year with 14 points, 14 digs, and 13 receptions in their four-set triumph over Petro Gazz on Tuesday.
May it be with what they wear or how they perform on the court, the Cool Smashers won’t ever go out of style.
“Sana mag-translate din ‘yan [into good performances]. Having this new polo jersey, I’d say it’s something new, something has changed, but the change would definitely help us also sa mga games,” said Valdez.
“We want to be presentable also when we're inside the court. Hopefully, we actually send the message also kung gaano pa rin kami ka-good vibes through our jerseys.”
