CREAMLINE head coach Sherwin Meneses bared plans to bring back its most recent import Erica Staunton for the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League from Apr. 20 to 27 in Manila.
With the luxury of securing at most three reinforcements, Meneses hopes Creamline can save one of those spots for the 24-year-old American ace who helped them capture the sport’s first Grand Slam last year.

“Siyempre number 1 diyan sa talagang wino-work namin (na makuhang import) si Erica (Staunton),” Meneses said.
“‘Yung iba, wala pa naman. Nakafocus pa kasi kami sa PVL ngayon. Hopefully, makakuha pa kami ng mas magagandang reinforcements.”
Staunton’s two-conference stint with Creamline in the 2024 season both ended in gold.

The Cool Smashers won the Reinforced and Invitational Conference titles to complete the season sweep wherein Staunton was named best outside spiker in the latter.
She’d go on to play in Indonesia’s Proliga with Jakarta Pertamina Energi but parted ways with the team just before their playoff run began.
Even with roughly a one-week window to prepare after the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference ends in April, Meneses isn’t doubting what his tireless players are capable of when the call of duty for the country arrives.
“Knowing Creamline, ‘di naman kami totally napapagod. Basta may competition, talagang ready yan. ‘Di namin miisip yung mga ganung side. Basta sumali kami, 100 percent magpe-perform kami.”
Backed by PLDT and Petro Gazz on opposite brackets in pool play, Meneses carries the hope that the three PVL teams can succeed in the regional tournament.
“Mas malaking tulong sa Philippine volleyball kasi talagang makakuha tayo ng mga techniques at mga highly-competitive teams talaga yung kalaban," he said.
“Mas maganda kung tatlo tayo kasi Philippines naman yung lalaban.”
