DEFENDING champion Creamline looks to secure a semifinal berth as it battles Motolite on Wednesday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
On a five-match winning run after an opening-day loss, the Cool Smashers look to join idle leader Petro Gazz in the round of four in the six-team tournament.
Creamline and Motolite clash at 5 p.m. after the match between Pacifictown-Army (3-3) and BaliPure (0-6) at 3 p.m.
Alyssa Valdez and Jia Morado together with imports Kuttika Kaewpin and Aleoscar Blanco try to repeat their four-set conquest of Motolite in the first round.
It could be a much different match this time, however, with Air Padda’s having won back-to-back behind Channon Thompson and Krsytle Esdelle.
Motolite took down BaliPure to end the first round before stunning Pacifictown-Army in five sets on Sunday.
That moved Motolite to fourth spot with a 2-4 win-loss record and on track for the semifinals.
“Honestly, we aren't thinking about the Final Four right now. We're literally just taking this one game at a time,” Padda told reporters after the match with Army.
“I told them that if we can get through Army, we already got better in a week. We can at least prep for Creamline. It's easier to just have a positive attitude about everything when you're winning versus like when you're losing.”
