DEFENDING champion Creamline recovered from a poor start to beat Pacifictown-Army, 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16, for its eighth consecutive victory in the PVL Reinforced Conference on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.
Creamline gained a share of the lead with Petro Gazz at 8-1.
Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin had 19 points on top of 16 digs, while Venezuela’s Aleoscar Blanco put up 10 attacks, four blocks and two aces for 16 points.
Alyssa Valdez had 11 points, while Michele Gumabao and Pau Soriano added six markers apiece. Jia Morado had 28 excellent sets.
“For our team it was really a bad first set, for Army it was a perfect set for them from the service line, from their attacks to their floor defense and their blocking talaga,” said Valdez. “Our errors were too many to count, lampas ata sa daliri during the first set. So going to the second set, coach Tai (Bundit) was asking us to compose ourselves and stay focused.”
Olena Lymareva-Flink had 22 points on top of 13 digs and 12 excellent receptions for Pacifictown-Army, which suffered its fifth loss in nine matches.
Jovelyn Gonzaga had 10 points for the Lady Troopers, who try to clinch a semifinal spot on Saturday against BanKo.
