THE future may already be calling Alyssa Solomon’s name in the PVL, but the consensus No. 1 pick in this year’s Rookie Draft still isn’t fully ready to answer just yet.
Fresh off her overseas debut stint with Japan SV.League silver medalist Osaka Marvelous, Solomon formally threw her name into the mix of 42 aspirants hoping to hear their names called in the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft.

But despite being widely projected as the top overall selection by Galeries Tower, the former National University star admitted her entry remains far from a closed case.
“Hindi po naging madali at ilang months ko rin pinag-isipan. Hindi pa naman talaga firm ‘yung decision, pero we’ll see. Thankful pa rin naman ako na nandito ako at nakapagpa-draft,” said Solomon during the draft combine on Thursday.
While Solomon chose not to address possible overseas opportunities still hanging above her head, her words made it clear that the option of continuing her career abroad remains part of the equation before the draft's June 1 application withdrawal deadline.
For now, though, the 6-foot-2 opposite spiker has already started getting familiar with the franchise expected to own the first overall pick.
Solomon revealed she has already trained with Galeries Tower and even reconnected with Highrisers strength and conditioning coach Kim Bejo, who also worked with her during her decorated run with the Lady Bulldogs.
Still, even with her name practically penciled in atop mock draft boards, Solomon refused to attach expectations to whatever direction the next few days may bring.
“No expectations naman po. Nag-usap lang kami about sa nakikita nilang plan siguro,” she said.
That uncertainty has done little to change the belief around the league that Solomon remains the biggest prize in this year’s class.
A three-time UAAP champion, Finals MVP, and one of the most dominant middle-opposite hybrids to come out of the collegiate ranks in recent years, Solomon’s blend of size, scoring and championship pedigree makes her the clear centerpiece of the draft pool.
But whether that future officially begins in the PVL this season, however, remains a decision only Solomon herself can finalize.
