UNIVERSITY of the Philippines lived for one more day after it turned back Far Eastern University, 25-18, 25-21, 32-34, 25-21, in Game Two of the best-of-three battle for third series of the Shakey's V-League Collegiate Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday.

UP, however, will no longer need to win Game Three set on Saturday if the best-of-three Finals between National University and Ateneo ends in two matches.

If National University ends up sweeping Ateneo on Wednesday, the Lady Maroons will settle for the third spot due to higher points despite losing Game One in five sets.

“’Yung start maganda then falter sa gitna, (pero) good na nanalo kami today,” said UP skipper Kathy Bersola. “Malaking boost siya for experience sa amin, naranasan namin up and down, nagawa namin na bumalik sa mataas na level uli. Ayun parang good experience siya for us.”

Nicole Tiamzon led the Lady Maroons with 24 points, while Diana Carlos added 12 markers as UP scored its first win against FEU this conference and since the second round of UAAP Season 76.
