JAJA Santiago arrived just in time for National University's semifinal match against University of the Philippines in the Shakey's V-League Collegiate conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Wednesday.
Santiago, who was escorted by the Highway Patrol Group from Biñan, Laguna, was even able to join her team in the pre-game warmup. But she was not named part of the Lady Bulldogs starting lineup for the match against the Lady Maroons, who won the first set, 25-21, at posting time.
The NU skipper played for Foton Pilipinas in its game against Altay VC of Kazakhstan in the AVC Asian Women's Club Championship early Wednesday. The Philippine side lost in three sets.
She left the Alonte Sports Arena right after the game for the 4 p.m. match against UP in the Shakey's V-League.
The Lady Bulldogs look to finish off the Lady Maroons to book a return trip to the mid-season conference's finals.
