FAR Eastern University proved too much for undermanned University of Santo Tomas, 25-14, 25-18, 25-23, to remain unscathed in Group B in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Collegiate Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.
Toni Rose Basas led the way for the Lady Tamaraws with 19 points as FEU remained unbeaten in three matches for a share of the top spot with University of the Philippines.
Heather Guinoo contributed nine markers for the Morayta-based squad, which earned a 1-0 carryover record heading to the quarterfinals after beating UST in the group stage, while its two other wins over College of St. Benilde and San Beda College were void as the two NCAA teams didn’t qualify for the quarterfinals.
