FORMER Petro Gazz head coach Koji Tsuzurabara won’t be returning to the Philippines any time soon.
The Japanese champion coach is taking his act to Mongolia where he will call the shots for reigning bronze medalists SG Hawks.
Tsuzurabara, 60, made history as the second foreign coach to lead a local PVL team to a championship in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.

It was also the Angels’ first taste of all-Filipino glory after a near half-decade wait, as well as their third league title in total.
Just months after winning the championship, Tsuzurabara expressed his disappointment with Petro Gazz that prompted his abrupt exit midway through the 2025 PVL on Tour.

He took a quick break back home in Japan to be with his family before signing with the two-time Mongolian Premier League medalists.
Since his departure from the Angels, the club finished ninth in the preseason under the tutelage of interim coach Brian Esquibel.
