CIGNAL dominated Capital1 in straight sets, 25-19, 25-17, 25-20, in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at PhilSports Arena on Saturday.
Rose Doria led the charge with 12 points, including 11 attacks and one ace, as the HD Spikers ended their campaign on a high note.
Molina takes charge
Team captain Ces Molina also contributed 12 points for Cignal, which finished in sixth spot and out of the semifinals with a 6-4 (win-loss) record.
Capital1 fell to 1-9.
“Until the end, we fought together. As a team talaga, ang daming struggles during the conference, individually and sa team. So, I think ‘yung maging united pa rin kami until the end na kahit na hindi kami nakapasok, we stay as one,” Molina said.
Meanwhile, Cignal's recent addition, star libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig, contributed nine excellent digs in the match.
Macandili glad to fit in
“Coming into this team, sobrang minimal lang ‘yung adjustments na ginawa ko like sa routine ko and sa pagpe-prepare before game. Kasi ‘yung sistema ni Coach Shaq, hindi nalalayo sa previous teams ko so talagang very comfortable ako. And hindi ako nag-struggle na mag-fit in,” said Macandili-Catindig.
Jorelle Singh led the Solar Spikers in the defeat with 14 points.
