LAOAG — The match between Cignal and Perlas Spikers scheduled on opening day of the Premier Volleyball League has been postponed for precautionary measures.
PVL officials said Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc requested the league to move the second match of Saturday's scheduled triple-header to a later date as the members of Perlas need another negative RT-PCR result.
The team tested negative in their RT-PCR tests before traveling to Laoag from their bubble training camp and again on Thursday at Fort Ilocandia.
The Perlas Spikers won't see action on PVL opening day
"This is just a precautionary measure set by the Ilocos Norte LGU," said PVL commissioner Tony Liao. “We will be postponing the game between Perlas and Cignal to a later date.”
Chery Tiggo and PLDT will kick off the Open Conference at 3 pm, followed by Creamline versus Sta. Lucia at 6 pm.
