ANTIPOLO CITY — Choco Mucho will be the newest team that will join the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference, which fires off next month.
League President Ricky Palou confirmed that Kat Tolentino, Bea De Leon and Maddie Madayag will banner the expansion team in the All-Filipina tournament organized by Sports Vision.
The troika of the reigning UAAP Season 81 champions, will be joined by their fellow former Ateneo Lady Eagle Kim Gequillana returning to action after months of missing the volleyball scene.
Most players are coming from the disbanded United Volleyball Club composed of Gyra Barroga, Marge Tejada, Bang Pineda and Erika Alkuino including University of Perpetual Help stalwart Cindy Imbo and Carla Sandoval of University of Santo Tomas.
Lady Eagles coach Oliver Almadro will call the shots for Choco Mucho.
Choco Mucho is the sister team of defending Open Conference champion Creamline under Rebisco and this is a first time in the PVL.
Air Force is also returning to the league joining newly-crowned Reinforced Conference champion Petro Gazz, bronze medalist Pacifictown-Army, BanKo, BaliPure and Motolite.
“It’s an Open Conference, lahat ng players Filipino, maganda. It will be a good one,” said Palou.
“Even without the imports, I think the top four teams are still the team to beat,” he added referring to Reinforced conference semifinalists Petro Gazz, Creamline, Pacifictown-Army and BanKo.
