IT was a year like no other for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans after landing breakthrough podium finishes in their first overseas preseason tilt in Vietnam and in the season-ending conference of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) in December of last year.
The outcome may not have been what they'd long hoped for, but after a four-conference streak of finishing at seventh place, the year that was for Choco Mucho tasted just like gold.
Entering the 2024 PVL season, however, redemption isn't necessarily a goal in mind for the Flying Titans as per incoming team captain Maddie Madayag.

“I wouldn't say siguro redemption kasi I think last year was our redemption year coming from like a stomp na seventh-place kami for how many conferences, and then we came back from Vietnam — the VTV (Cup) experience na nakapag-third-place po kami, and then when we started last conference last year, we were able to get the silver," said Madayag.

"I think we take it as an inspiration, especially that we have four new members in the team (Mars Alba, Mean Mendrez, Bia General, and Royse Tubino) that's gonna help us grow and play better. We're very excited to start this first conference of 2024," she added.
As Madayag recalled, Choco Mucho finished seventh in their debut stint and the last four conferences before reaching its first-ever PVL Finals and just falling short of the gold to sister team Creamline in two games.
Sitting in between their last top-seven finish and most recent silver medal run was an international preseason tilt in the 2023 Vietnam VTV Cup which saw the Flying Titans win bronze.
This is on top of individual post-tournament accolades handed out to Madayag (best middle blocker) and eventual 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference MVP Sisi Rondina (best outside spiker).
