CHOCO Mucho regained its footing in the semifinal race, while Akari leaned on Eli Soyud’s career-best scoring outburst to survive Farm Fresh in a five-set thriller in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab series on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Flying Titans recovered from a first-set stumble to sweep the next three frames against Galeries Tower, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15, while the Chargers rallied past the Foxies, 25-22, 25-27, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Choco Mucho leaned on its discipline on defense and scoring depth to bounce back from a five-set loss to Farm Fresh, improving to 3-1 and staying in contention for one of four semifinal berths.

Dawn Catindig anchored the Flying Titans with 20 excellent digs and 11 receptions. Eya Laure delivered 18 points, 11 receptions and nine digs, while Sisi Rondina-Rosales and Caitlin Viray added 11 points apiece.
The Flying Titans also pounced on Galeries Tower’s 32 errors to hand the Highrisers their fourth straight loss. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas led Galeries Tower with 11 points.
Akari, meanwhile, needed every bit of Soyud’s firepower to complete its comeback against Farm Fresh.
Soyud erupted for 30 points, including 27 attacks, and delivered the decisive backrow kill in the fifth set to seal the Chargers’ second straight victory after opening their campaign with consecutive defeats.
Ivy Lacsina backed Soyud with 21 points, while Fifi Sharma added 11, including three blocks. Setter Mars Alba orchestrated the offense with 22 excellent sets and contributed eight points.
Akari also controlled the net with a commanding 13-3 advantage in blocks, helping offset its narrow 72-71 deficit in attacks.
Trisha Tubu led the Foxies with 25 points, while Royse Tubino and Mylene Paat-Rezanova added 14 and 12, respectively. The loss left Farm Fresh tied with Akari and Capital1 at 2-2.
