CHERY Tiggo has turned on the afterburners early in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference with its second sweep win in as many games, this one over Nxled, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23, on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.
Ara Galang went full-throttle for the unbeaten Pool A leaders with 11 points built on seven attacks, four aces, and 11 excellent digs.

The Crossovers didn’t miss a beat just two days after a dominant conference-opener against Farm Fresh, with captain Khat Bell’s power hits and resounding on-court presence steering them to victory.

The 31-year-old Bell was yet again at the forefront of Chery Tiggo’s offense with 21 markers and 10 digs, but also underscored the need to balance rest and recovery to keep her game at an optimal level.
“The girls played amazing. Every time someone came in, for somebody else, they did what they were supposed to do. Our player of the game (Galang) was amazing tonight. Really helped to have her have my back tonight, so it was a great effort all-around,” Bell said.
“I’m an older player now, so my body’s not gonna recover in the way it used to recover back then. Our PTs here, our strength and conditioning coaches, are amazing so they make sure that I’m healthy and getting the rest I need.”
Aside from a late third set tug-of-war, the Crossovers were in the driver’s seat all match long through Galang and Bell’s two-way displays on top of Jasmine Nabor’s 12 excellent sets and rookie Karen Verdeflor’s 10 receptions.
Nxled reinforcement Meegan Hart was held to just nine points, as no Chameleon hit double-figures after ruling a five-set marathon over Galeries Tower on opening day.
Bang Pineda’s best efforts on floor defense, with 13 digs and seven receptions, couldn’t contain a red-hot Chery Tiggo drive as they drop to 1-1.
