CHERY Tiggo needs just one more win to reach the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals even after losing its last four matches.
For its ace wingers Cess Robles and Shaya Adorador, what the Crossovers lost over the last few weeks is the ‘killer instinct’ that has won them five games in prelims play for the 8-seed.

“‘Yung last games na nangyari, maganda naman yung pinakita namin sabi ng coaches pero hindi lang kami nakakatapos nang maganda dahil wala kaming panapos sa latter part,” Adorador said.
Good thing for the Crossovers, they found what they were missing just in the nick on time by taking down Nxled in straight sets on Thursday to begin the league’s inaugural play-in tournament.
“Yun po yung nagiging problema namin which is sana talaga malutas na siya and for today’s game naman (against Nxled), na nakita naman namin na ginusto talaga naming ipanalo yung game,” Adorador said.
Robles added: “Napagkwentuhan din namin (ni Shaya) na dapat nandu’n ‘yung killer instinct namin sa laro. Yung confidence namin (na nawala) at dapat madala namin sa next game, nakita ko rin kanina.”
Even if the five-peat-seeking Creamline awaits at the end of the play-in tunnel for the Pool B winners, getting the results as fast and convincing as possible will be imperative to not only reach the quarters but also make a deep playoff run.
“Talagang killer instinct pa rin sana madala namin siya into Farm Fresh na game,” said Adorador. “Talagang kapag nauna na, kailangang pukpukan na kasi hindi na talaga biro yung games na ‘to.”
“Dadalhin din talaga namin ‘yung puso at utak sa laro and maturity na rin,” Robles added.
