Cess Robles was one dig shy of a triple-double in the Crossovers’ 30-28, 20-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-8 comeback over Galeries Tower in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

The former National University standout dropped 21 on the Highrisers with 10 receptions and nine digs to lead Chery Tiggo’s resurgence from a set down.
Robles was backed by a trio of veteran Crossovers mainstays led by captain Aby Maraño (15 points), Pauline Gaston (14 points) and Shaya Adorador (13 points).
Galeries Tower lost control of the driver’s seat as its 2-1 set edge, and an 18-point explosion from France Ronquillo, all went for naught.
Adaptive to changes, on and off the court
From a new head coach to a surprise player exodus, changes have been aplenty for Chery Tiggo just in the offseason alone.
What such a frantic stretch has taught them before embarking on the league’s longest conference yet is to cultivate a team culture grounded on openness to change.

“Maganda talaga ‘yung program na pina-plano nila lagi. You also notice that they’re not afraid to try different things. In the third set, naglaro ako utility tapos si ate Ara ‘yung outside,” Gaston said.
“There’s a lot of ‘gulat factors’ because a lot of the players are not afraid to go outside of their comfort zones with the help of our coaches.
“’Yung coaches talaga namin, they push us beyond our limits. They know na kaya pa namin to do more and that will also help our overall developments as players kasi gusto pa naming gumaling lalo as a family.”
