CHERY Tiggo remains optimistic that an amicable settlement with Eya Laure can still be reached.
The long relationship of Laure and the Crossovers looked at an end in the last few weeks amid reports that her contract with the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) club had been pre-terminated.

Although unconfirmed, also coming to light was an an alleged non-compete clause in Laure's contract with Chery Tiggo that might restrict her from playing for another team at least for the upcoming 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Speaking on the issue for the first time, Chery Tiggo team manager Aaron Velez made it clear that they are actively seeking an amicable resolution to their star spiker’s complex contract situation.
“Ang status namin kay Eya Laure ngayon is under negotiation pa. Hopefully, we can resolve this amicably. Of course, we look after the welfare of Eya and ma-resolve na ‘to between parties.
“Before the PVL starts, we want to resolve this also. Hopefully, before November 9, nakapag-ayos na kami.”
Mutual separation?
When asked about the presence of a non-compete clause in Laure’s contract, Velez said he wasn’t at liberty to go into detail whether there is such a stipulation to begin with.
Velez also declined to acknowledge that the team’s separation with Laure was mutual.
“I cannot really say na mutual kasi sa any breakup naman, talagang meron ‘yang mga masalimuot na pinagdadaanan pero hopefully ma-resolve nang maayos.
“Hindi naman nawala [‘yung communication with Eya]. Actively naman siyang dini-discuss.
Velez added: “Because of the non-disclosure of any contract, I can’t really say the entire clause. Rest assured it was also read before and it was also discussed.”
