NORMAN Miguel still carries the hope that Chery Tiggo EV can rediscover its preseason luster even after a three-game skid to begin the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
With an On Tour silver and an Invitational bronze, it took four games for the Crossovers to translate their rediscovered winning ways to a breakthrough 25-9, 25-16, 25-23 victory vs. Galeries Tower on Thursday.

To get their motor running once and for all, Miguel knows he’ll have to take it upon himself to not be deterred by such early and rattling setbacks.
“Kailangan talaga magsimula sa’kin na maging matibay ako. Tao ka lang din naman na may mga frustrations at mga nararamdaman,” he said.
“Ayaw ko ring makita sa kanila na nada-down sila. Iniiwasan ko 'yun eh. Kailangan lang talaga maging matibay for that."

As far as Xs and Os go, the champion college coach knows he’s done his part to keep the team on its toes in wins and losses.
During that three-game skid, Miguel started team trainings by showing his players key statistics that might make them frustrated with how they’ve performed so far - hopefully leading to improved play.
But for his words to not fall on deaf ears, his constant call to action was to remind the Crossovers that they have what it takes to get going once more - just like they did through their double preseason podium haul.
“As a coach, hindi naman pwedeng laging ganun lang. Kailangan merong panalo na rin para masimulan ‘yung pag-angat,” he said.
“Kailangang walang mag-give up at tiyagain ‘to dahil nagawa na namin ‘to nu’ng On Tour at Invitational na galing din sa [mababang] level, pero eventually, umangat din. ‘Yun pa rin ‘yung hope namin ngayon.”
