CHERY Tiggo completed back-to-back sweeps of the league’s newcomer clubs by drubbing Strong Group, 25-12, 25-17, 25-19, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Mylene Paat dished out 10 quick points on nine attacks and one ace in only two seta played, setting the tone for the Crossovers’ second victory in as many games.
“Kung hindi naman dahil sa sistema, sa pinapa-training, pinapagawa sam’in ng mga coaches, hindi naman ganitong lalalim yung team namin. Kailangan lang na ‘wag talaga kami mag-pabaya,” the former PVL MVP said on the Crossovers’ depth, which was on display in the win.
All 14 Chery Tiggo players saw action across the three-set match — 12 of which, excluding liberos Jen Nierva and Buding Duremdes, were on the scoresheet.

Led by Paat and fellow ex-captain EJ Laure, the squad fired 52 attacks on a 41 percent attacking efficiency in such a short game — nearly double that of SGA's 28 total attacks.
Returning setter Alina Bicar started for Chery Tiggo, but it was sophomore playmaker Joyme Cagande who finished off the struggling SGA side with 11 excellent sets.
Meanwhile, Strong Group skipper Dolly Versoza was again the lone bright spot in the PVL newcomers' second successive loss with eight attack points.
