NAVY whipped Baguio, 25-14, 25-19, 25-12, on Thursday to keep alive its slims hopes for a playoff for the last semifinal berth in the V-League Season 12-Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Sailors remained in sixth with a 3-4 slate, but could force a playoff for the last semis seat if Meralco and Perpetual Help, toting identical 2-3 cards, drop one of their last two games.

Skipper Lilet Mabbayad scored 12, while Charmine de la Cruz had nine points and Norie Diaz and Carissa Martinez chipped in six markers apiece for the Sailors.

Team Baguio, which fell to 1-5, got 12 points from Krissian Tsuchiya and five hits from Coleen Rossi.

The league takes a break from Friday until May 9 to give way to the Asian Women’s Under 23 Volleyball Championship.

PLDT’s Alyssa Valdez is seeing action for the national team.
