TOP middle blocker Celine Domingo will suit up for Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League after the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
No contract details were made public but Creamline team manager Alan Acero announced Domingo, who played for PayMaya in the Reinforced Conference, will join the Cool Smashers for their title-retention bid in the Season 3 Reinforced Conference starting in May.
The UAAP opens on Feb. 16. The eliminations usually run for 10 weeks.
“The reigning UAAP Best Blocker will sign and suit up for Creamline at the conclusion of the Lady Tams’ campaign in UAAP Season 81,” Acero said on Twitter.
Domingo fortifies the middle position of the Cool Smashers, who already have Risa Sato and Pau Soriano.
The reigning Collegiate Conference Best Middle Blocker, who also played for Smart in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference, joins five-time MVP Alyssa Valdez, setter and two-time Finals MVP Jia Morado, Jema Galanza, Michele Gumabao and top libero Melissa Gohing.
“Ced will provide depth in the middle and help the team defend its Reinforced Conference title,” Acero added.
Creamline has yet to announce who will replace head coach Tai Bundit, who has left the team after winning the Open Conference championship for the Cool Smashers at the expense of his former team Ateneo.
