CAGAYAN Valley notched a fourth straight win after demolishing University of the Philippines, 25-15, 25-19, 25-16, in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.
Former University of Santo Tomas standout Aiza Maizo had 13 points, while Pau Soriano and Janine Marciano added 12 markers each for the Lady Rising Suns, whose winning run includes victories over heavyweights National University and Philippine Air Force.
The defending champion improved to a 5-1 record for a share of second spot with the Lady Troopers.
“Maganda na ang samahan ng team, pag nabuo sila (players) lalo silang nag-e-enjoy. Nag-adjust na rin sa depensa at maganda na compared sa simula,” said Cagayan coach Nes Pamilar.
Cagayan, which only needed 66 minutes to finish the match, poured in 12 service aces as it capitalized on UP's poor ball reception.
Kathy Bersola made 10 for UP, which remained winless in six games.
